Non-counting Grade Mark? was created by Jerrygardnerjr
I want to mark down a column a mark that does not count as a grade in the column, but is a mark to denote the student was absent for the day. is there a way to do that?

Everything I do requires a value that is at least zero (which counts negatively against an average).

Any ideas?

Hi Jerrygardnerjr,

Here my two suggestions:

- You can add an annotation instead (tap&hold on a cell, then Annotation), and mark here the absence of this student. It will reflect as a small triangle in the cell and with a single tap you'll see the details of that annotation. This won't affect the average.

- The other option is to wait for our major update iDoceo 3.0 which will allow you to add icons in a cell and as long as those icons have no numeric value associated, they won't affect the average either.
We're eagerly waiting for its approval, should not take more than one or two days ... or even today if we're lucky.

Thanks Bert.

Doesn't solve the issue 100% but it is a solid work around.

I bought the app for 3.0, quit micro managing every app- Apple and give us the update!!!!!!!

This lost time is the worst part of releasing a new update... and every time I check the stats, the review time keeps rising ( link here ). Lots of updates before iOS7 I guess.

Before I forget. Once you update to 3.0 you'll need to disable the 'Skip empty cell - version 2.5 mode' setting (From your iPad's settings/ iDoceo). Find below a screenshot .

It is enabled by default for all our users to keep every current calculation from version 2.5 in place. Backward compatibility is always one of our main concerns.

I am an Android guy first for simple reasons like this over reviewing micro management. It's sad for developers because of all the lost time and revenue. :(
