creating a CSV file in my Dropbox folder was created by pennycent
HOW DO I create a CSV file in my iDodeo app in Dropbox?
(step by step instructions would be terrific please!!)

I've read the instructions and have followed them, but when I try to import them from my iPad, it comes up with "There are no CSV files in your iDoceo's Dropbox folder"

I want to be able to save them and then open them in Excel on my laptop. :)

Thanks! :)

Hi pennycent!
I was about to reply with a step by step, but got stuck on your last sentence, now I'm not sure if you want to get your data out from iDoceo (export), or get it into iDoceo (import).
I'll explain how to get your data out, please correct me if you need it the other way round.

If I understand it properly, you want to save your data as CSV so you'll be able to open it in Excel.

- First, you must have the gradebook page you want to export on screen.
- Next, tap on export (or action button) shown here

- Now you should see a list of possible file formats , you should select XLS as it is specially meant for Excel. If you have trouble with XLS select any of the different CSVs to see which on suits you

- The next step is to select the app that will handle the file, here you should have Dropbox available, tap on it and then Dropbox app will open asking you where you want the file to be saved.

And that's it, you should have a nice XLS file in your Dropbox account and you should be able to open it in your laptop.

Thanks for contacting us, if you need further assistance let us know!

Thanks Bert... for the step by step! :)

You DID chose the right one!

However....

When it comes to the drop down "Open In..." the only thing there is "Numbers".

How can I get Dropbox to be included?

Thanks for your understanding... and patience!

Hi pennycent,
I found out that too... with the last update of Dropbox they 'dropped' CSV support, I guess it is a bug and they'll solve it soon.
The apps list shown when you export is filled automatically by the system with apps installed in your iPad that support each given format , we have no control over it...
I tested with XLS format and the latest Dropbox 'still' handles it (it can't preview it but it will work on Excel), did you try with XLS?

Pennycent,
I've contacted the people at Dropbox and they where kind enough to reply almost immediately. They've confirmed there is no bug reported and that Dropbox should be there in the list of available apps for CSV file

They told me to uninstall/reinstall Dropbox, which I did ... and that did the trick, hope it helps!
