export to xls - no column data in file

Hi..

I would like to export various columns to excel. I see the setting to do so, but 2 things happen. I get an error message at opening and my file has student names, but no data in it. Numbers does not give me an error, but there is still not data.

I am wondering is this because I use icons for scores (for example the Checkmark = 5pts). Please help me to export my columns out correctly, where the icons convert to its correct numerical value in excel.

The icons in iDoceo will be exported as its description instead of its numeric value.
You'll find here the details on how to assign and include that text in the XLS file. The article is about attendance, but it will work the same with grade book data.

Yes, text would be fine. But it is not working.I followed those instructions and got the error message upon opening the file in Excel (2011 Mac). The message said that the file was corrupt (see attached image) . If I open it in Numbers I don't get an error, but there is still no data in the columns.

I tried for a couple of different classes and got the same results.

Suggestions?

I tried LibraOffice, the spreadsheet, I can open the file it gives no error, but it still does not have data in the columns. It again gives me the student names and headings for the columns, but the data is missing from each of the columns after that.

I have tried CSV and XLS exports from Idoceo. I have tried just a single column and the entire sheet. I tried just attendance or the other grade sheet I have. I get the same result for all, student names but no data in the columns.
