Instruction manuals was created by Sslater
Does anyone happen to know of a good set of YouTube clips or anything with more details about how to use idoceo? I am finding the instruction manuals very frustrating as there is not enough detail and I am not vey techy! Would be very great full! :)

Hello Sslater,
Is there any particular issue you'd like that tutorial about?
You'll find here some tutorials in youtube by Tim Boudreau
But if you let us know what can be improved in the instructions, we'll work on it!

Regards

Hi Bert, thanks for all the help. I'm not sure I understand it enough to explain on here! I've attempted to configure my schedule and it keeps erasing other classes off when I try and add one! I reckon I have set up my lesson times wrong somewhere but have no idea how to change this? I've checked in the periods under settings and I have 8 periods down (5 classes, break, & lunch - I know this is only 6 but it does say 8...) I've then hatched out break and lunch. But then if I go in my schedule the lessons are different?

And my schedule does not seem to link with my planner?! arrggghhh!!!! I am from a large secondary school and the whole staff (about 200ish teachers) have been given new ipads. I'm tryin gto convince them that this is the way forward, but I don't understand enough about it myself to even attempt to try and teach them so that we can buy the APP for everyone. Hence I e-mailed you a week or so ago to ask if you knew anyone who could provide some training for it.

Yes, I remember! Lets go step by step and focus first on the schedule. I'll gladly explain this in detail .

The calendar will go next and is pretty easy once you know the essentials. The planner will simply reflect what has been done in the calendar or schedule, the information is taken from the same place but we'll keep that for later, don't worry about that.

I'd need to know first what kind of schedule you're working with, if it is some week A - week B combination, a single week or some weird rotating cycle of 6 to 9 days. I'm guessing it is week A/B, but please confirm!

yes its a two week cycle. I've been swapping between the 2 different working modes also if this helps?! cause I was told the compact mode is easier to use but I need the planner!

If you need the planner then forget about compact mode, make sure you're in full-size mode now!

The first step: creating your classes.
You need to have your classes ready in order to configure the schedule. You may simply add empty classes but without students (main screen > Add > Class > Type a name) or import actual students with an XLS or CSV file.
I'd suggest to add empty classes first, so that you can move on to the next step right away. Students can be added later on into each class.

Second step: Filling week A in the schedule
Tap on Schedule (on the ruler) and now swipe left or right to locate the first A week in in your cycle. This could be any week, lets assume it is the current one.

Tap&hold below Monday and Add. Fill the proper Class field, Period and Times
The essential field here is Period. Make sure you increase the period each time, or it will replace the previous time block.
It doesn't matter if those periods do not match your actual periods. You'll be able to change those names with our next update.

Once you have your Monday ready, fill in the rest of the week.

Let me know if you got that right and we'll move to the next step

Great!
Next step: Your week B
Swipe your finger to left so that the schedule shows the following week. It should be empty, make sure Monday has the right date below.

And no surprises here ... now you must configure your Week B schedule, with the same steps explained before.

The tedious part is over, lets move now to the Calendar (tap Calendar on the ruler).

You should have now the calendar on sight, and your WeekA and B painted in blue , while the rest of the calendar is empty.
In this step we'll replicate the weeks you've configured to the rest of the calendar, make sure you've selected Week mode and select your week A on the calendar.
We'll work first with week A and then with B

Once selected, you should see on your right hand side, the schedule you prepared in our previous steps.
Tap on Automatic Copy and make sure you select 'Repeat every 2 weeks' This is essential!

The calendar should now look more or less like a blue zebra, with blue stripes representing your Week A, and empty stripes, which will hold our week B with our next step.

Select now your Week B in the calendar, tap on Automatic Copy, 'Repeat every 2 weeks', important again, and Done.

Hope you made it this far! I'm aware it seems daunting at first, we'll keep working on those tutorials and making this easier in our next updates.

With all this, you should now have the calendar properly configured and the planner will be as well.

Ok so having some technical difficulties now... Had got up to your last step when my iPad had a wobble and we had to reset to factory settings. Even though I've been backing up it had saved my classes but not the schedule so have had to go back in and input again. Just done this and followed your instructions to set up the cycle on the calendar. Realised I had to put holiday dates in first so had to erase the calendar dates which also erased my schedule so had to input again.

Put it all in again (adding holidays to calendar first) and realised that when I add my 2week cycle it didn't work around the hols so had to clear calendar dates again and have once again lost my schedule set up... Very frustrating. Bear with me and I will input the schedule again, but could do with guidance on how to set up cycle taking hols into account please.

I think I am technology jinxed! ;)
