I can't seem to extend my calendar beyond the end of 2014. The top of the calendar page says 2014 and I can't find a way to get 2015...?

From the calendar view, tap on Select calendar. You will see here the list of your current calendars.
Tap on the small blue button next to 2014's and edit the end date to include 2015
