Doubling \ multiplying a number

Hi - due to some complicated half points problem and exam board rules I need to double a mark that a student gets before I do a text grade calculation on it. For example if they get 40 out of 45 that mark will be doubled to become 80 out of 90. Can that be done through Idoceo's calculations engine?

That can't be done yet, but internally iDoceo will treat 40 out of 45 exactly the same as 80 out of 90. I guess you know that already.
If you'd like to share that calculation, let me know and I'll keep it mind for our next update

Thanks Bert - the idea is that I am using a text grades calculation to work out A* - G grades. A* is 81 out of 90 (90% in text grade setup), A is 72 out of 90 (80%), B is 63 (70%) etc.

I then discovered that this calculation is based on 2 pieces of coursework which are worth 45 marks each (i.e. 2 x 45 means total mark out of 90). I am trying to grade just 1 piece of coursework out of 45, but when I set this up instead it means that A* is worth 40.5 out of 45, A is worth 36 out of 45, B is worth 31.5 out of 45 etc. This is more problematic as half marks was giving me trouble when I tried to set up the text grade. So the best solution I thought was to double the mark out of 45 for one piece of coursework so that I could easily work out the grade.

Having said all this - I found a way to do it by sheer accident. By using a normalised conversion calculation on the mark out of 45 it doubled the number quite successfully! Is this going to work? It seems to be for now!

I'm not sure how common this circumstance will be. But I have a solution for now.
